New! Tech Concierge Offered as Resident Relations Associate

SHN BUILD Conference

Senior Housing News recently featured RiverWoods Durham in an article about a relatively new and popular position among senior living communities: a Tech Concierge.

The RiverWoods Durham community recently welcomed Mark Sylvester  into this role, what we call the Resident Relations Associate. We recognize that technology can improve the lives of our residents and in most cases, make life easier. Based on resident survey results, we understood there was an ongoing need for resident IT support. They asked, we answered, and provided! This new full-time position has been added to the RiverWoods Durham team.

One of the greatest benefits of the new position is it will allow residents to work with a team member located within the community rather than outsource a vendor. The resident will not pay a fee for the service(s) as it’s included within their monthly service fees.

“The safety of our residents is very important. For example, teaching/educating residents about potential scam phone calls and emails could deter a resident from an unfortunate situation.”

~Natalee D’Antoni, Director of Community Life

We are excited to welcome Mark Sylvester into the role. Mark is part of a three-generation RiverWoods Durham family – his parents, Don and Elaine, moved here when we opened in 2019, and his son Tyler is our Executive Chef. Mark has a background in IT and we are thrilled to see this position filled by someone so well qualified within the RWD community.
