Careers at RiverWoods Durham

RiverWoods Durham is a new Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that opened in Durham, NH in November, 2019. The newest community of the RiverWoods Group, the largest family of non-profit CCRCs in Northern New England, all communities are charitable, non-profit, and nationally-accredited CCRC’s. The original Exeter, NH campus, the dream of a grassroots group of Seacoast area residents, opened in 1994.

All RiverWoods campuses remain true to our founders’ original inspiration — that growing older should enhance, not diminish, the opportunity for a productive and rewarding life.

RiverWoods Durham will be home to 150 Independent Living homes and 72 health care homes including Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Memory Support.

Each member of our team plays a critical role in achieving our mission: to provide the opportunity for community, purpose, and peace of mind for our residents and each other.

I’ve worked in culinary services all my life,

From my first day, I felt that everyone in the community was truly valued, regardless of position. I have never worked for an organization that actually lived the Core Values top to bottom on a daily basis.

The RiverWoods Way

Our passion as employees is to pursue purposeful work and to make a difference in our residents’ lives. Our jobs may be to cook, clean, mow lawns, fix appliances, paint, build, check medications, and serve a meal, but every employee’s primary responsibility is to care for our residents and ensure they live their best possible life — this is The RiverWoods Way.

The RiverWoods Core Values

  • Be Yourself. Be genuine.
  • Respect. We honor one another.
  • Not for Self. It’s not about me, it’s about we.
  • Sustainability. We use our resources wisely, forever.
  • Curiosity. Ask “why” and never stop learning.
  • Community. We are in this together.

Living our core values creates our culture.

Our employees embody our core values in every interaction, because they believe and understand that every person matters, every job is meaningful, and every moment counts.
