About RiverWoods Durham in NH

The natural beauty and academic culture of Durham meets the active RiverWoods way of life.

The RiverWoods Group has just announced plans to expand for the first time outside of Exeter. Fittingly, the new community will be located in Durham, home of RiverWoods Exeter co-founder Maryanna Hatch, on 11 acres located off Route 108 on Stone Quarry Drive. Scheduled to open in late 2019/early 2020, this charitable nonprofit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) will build upon the tradition of RiverWoods’ reputation for providing award-winning senior living. It will offer state-of-the-art apartment homes and a wide array of gracious services and amenities.

RiverWoods Durham will be a dynamic new CCRC with approximately 150 apartments, a fitness center, an art studio and dynamic meeting spaces, along with a comprehensive health center providing assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing with an approximately 72-bed capacity.

Most importantly, RiverWoods Durham will provide the RiverWoods lifestyle—which is rich in community engagement, intellectual, physical, social and cultural opportunities. In addition to the beautiful apartments and lifestyle offerings, RiverWoods Durham will provide a full range of assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing to its residents if and when they need it, at predictable and lower costs. Residents will also benefit from estate preservation through a one-time entrance fee that is up to 90% refundable.
